Massachusetts Governor Signs In To Law A Bill To Confiscate Guns Without Due Process

The State of Massachusetts Governor, Charlie Baker signed a bill that would allow the state to confiscate any firearm(s) from the citizens if they deem the person to be a danger to oneself or others. Bill h.4760 reads:

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to regulate forthwith the possession of firearms in the commonwealth, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

The Republican Governor proudly professed on Twitter:

Massachusetts’ gun laws are a model for the nation, and creating an additional pathway to keep guns away from people unfit to possess them will make our laws even stronger. [1/2]

This law creates a responsible way to help prevent gun deaths and suicides while protecting individuals’ second amendment rights. [2/2]

This is nothing new for this state. They had a similar Bill H.3610 which died off in the House.
